Word Auditions Rejects Revenge

This strip is from the Matt's Groove Mobile pad.
It refer's to a dreadful youth tv show frome the early 90's
called The Word hosted by Manchester wanker Terry Christian.
Idiots would queue outside the studios to be part of the dancing partying audience.

matt's groove mobile goes on tour

this sketch pad is based around a character
named "Groovy Matt".
He is influenced by the rave culture/madchester scene.
In 1990 you could buy these hooded tops with flared wrists and all the Stone Rose's fans were wearing flared jeans as well.
The sketches are interesting to me as a reflection of the times.
Believe it or not "rave on" really was a catch phrase at the time.

Half way through drawing the book, I took LSD for the first time.
This heavily influences the second half of the sketch pad.
I'll be posting this book in batches, see if you can spot the turning point....
